well the past 2 months have been nothing short of busy as usual. it seems like i'm constanly on the move. i don't have much time to update this thing so here it goes:
- i celebrated my 6 month anniversary with julia last friday. i took her out to dinner to applebee's and we came back to my place and watched a movie. i kept it low-key because we were both tired.
- officiating basketball and soccer games are done. i swear many people treat IM sports as the NBA. you are playing for fun, don't get pissy at the refs if they miss one call out of 10.
- school has been a pain in the ass. i recently changed my major to health fitness. with this change, i know have graduation in sight, may of 2008. i'm glad i didnt get into the athletic training program. toward the end of last semester, i was close to burnout, and the ATR instructors expected me to be completely devoted to the "program" for over 30 hours per week.
- andrew is leaving for the air force on wednesday. brad and i went to his going away party in holland this past weekend. i'm gonna miss that kid.

wow its been so long since i updated this thing. so much has happend since i last updated 3 months ago.
firstly, i have a girlfriend now. julia and i have been dating for the past two and a half months, and i can say its the best thing thats happend to me this year. i havent been so happy in a long time and im glad to have her in my life. i love you babe
also, i was sick for almost a month two weeks ago. i was in and out of the doctor's office and the hospital. at the beginning of october i went to the mt pleasant hospital due to dizzy spells and anxiety. it turns out there they diagnosed me with anxiety. well, i got the medication for it and unfortunately it got worse. so i went home that weekend to check it out, and the doctor told me i had a serious ear infection. i was on the DL for a long time. basically, i went to class, ate, and slept. never in my life have i ever felt my like shit. it seriously felt like my head was gonna explode. the new medication they put me on relieved most of the swelling and now im just starting to get better. one scary episode after another this year.
my days are getting busier now that i'm better. the athletic training program has got me by the nuts and i really haven't spent any quality time with my friends lately. in the next couple of weeks i have an oral practical and written exam on top of the volleyball rotation they gave me. these next few weeks are gonnna be hard so hopefully i can bear down and get in the program.
lastly, i've decided i'm know longer gonna keep a grudge with anyone. last week, i talked to snyder for the first time since he dropped. i can't be mad at him for doing that. it was his decision to not come back. i guess the anxiety over stupid shit caused my ear infection to feel worse than what it was.
anways, tonight i'm having people over for Presidents and Assholes Thursdays. i'll keep this updated more the next few weeks.

update time, right now i'm recovering from minor surgery. i came home late sunday night from michigan international speedway to have all four of my wisdom teeth taken out this morning. dr. howard, my new dentist, gave me a few shots of novacaine and nitrious oxide, laughing gas, to make sure i didn't feel anything. everything went really good, and it took less than two hours to get done. yeah, the recovery will take some time, but i'm hoping to return to mt pleasant thursday to hangout with everyone again.
last week, i moved back up to mt pleasant for a few days to move into my new apartment. despite mt. p being mostly deserted the whole time, i spent some quality time fixing up my room and drinking with some of the brothers. tuesday nite, we kicked off melody, jenny, and jones' new apartment at tallgrass with a party. needless to say, i got pretty wasted that nite at their apartment, and later on that nite i made it a habit to drunk dial a few friends.
this past weekend, about 16 of the brothers and two of the brothers' girlfriends worked MIS. it wasn't too much waking up at 4:30 both saturday and sunday morning to serve beer and pop to toothless, redneck hicks, but it was some good bonding time with some brothers i don't get a chance to hangout with like ben and keaton. oh yeah, i didn't have a tent to sleep in all weekend, so me and mike had the bright idea to camp out in each of our ions!
i'm really disappointed that last week i found out both of my fraternity little brothers are leaving the group. andrew left because he got kicked out of central, and josh quit because of he is a big douchebag, and didn't like the group in general. i'm not really mad at andrew at all because i guess college isn't for him, and it's like that for some people. on the otherhand, josh really pissed me off. he gave way too many excuses why he is leaving, and even made it a point to argue with me online when i was drunk after melodie's party. its up to him if he still wants to be friends with me.
well, i'm off to finish the rest of my milkshake. i can only eat soft foods for the next week, and i can't drink from a straw until my stitches heal.

last night i went to canada with julia, shaun, and tiff. we all met up at my house around 9ish and headed to the land up north. we played a few games at the casino then went to the bars along the strip. every single bar we went to had basically no drink specials which sucked, but i had a good time. definetly blew 60 bucks on drinks for the nite (Oh yeah, rum and coke is definetly my new favorite drink).
i had to mention that because it was a little break from me feeling like shit. i guess thats what a livejournal is rite? maybe. maybe not. i really have been contemplating on alot of decisions i have made over the last two years at college and i realized i made a few mistakes, but it doesn't mean that people should still be giving you shit for it 7-8 months later. definetly have drank too much, dated some difficult girls, and got in some really petty fights. i'm really fucking sick of people focusing on that shit, instead of moving past that stuff. if you think i'm talking about you, i'm probably not, so don't get bitchy with your comments on here.
i'm not trying to impress anyone. i never have, and never will. to quote a great movie, anchorman, thats how i roll, i don't do stuff to show off, i do it cause i enjoy it. i'm really sick of the same old high school fucking drama. i've been out of high school for a little over two years and i've dealt with more stuff out of it then i did when i was attending GR.
these were really random thoughts tonite and theres more to come, but thats all i can think of rite now cause i'm tired and i have to work early in the morning. |
